Road To Penang

December 31, 2009 by muhammad fitri

Penang Mari. We started our journey at 0800 hours and arrived at Penang Plaza’s Tol at 1400 hours.  Long journey, sleep more and had beautiful scenery along the highway. You should come Penang. Here we start. Hello PENANG.

©Muhammad Fitri

Hey. Okay. Now, we spent our first night in Penang at the Penang Festival. It was held only on the December school holiday. So, this is our chance to get there. As we arrived there, there were so many locals  enjoying their night. If  in Kuala Lumpur, this place might be like around Bukit Bintng. Not much tourist but more locals and Indonesian. I saw them a lot here, maybe they are working here, maybe. Accidentally, my brothers favourite’s band, Hujan came here for their performance.  We were like, whoaaaaa. So happy, because it was free admission.

Here are my personal favourite photos I captured. Next day pula. we woke up early in the morning to go to the beach. In the mean time, Kak Su’s(Zariman’s wife) parent came to the house for a while to fetched their youngest daughter that are staying with Kak Su’s for a while. Her name is Shazwani. She came to Penang only when the holiday because Kak Su’s wanted her to attend the tuittion class. When we arrived Batu Ferenggi, my siblings and I quickly changed our clothes. Long time we don’t have this kind of picnik day.

After the 30 mintues swimming session, Abang Zariman suggested to us to try the Laksa near the beach, what to do? Everyone was hungry at that time. It was great, nice view, love the wind, delicious Rojak too.

My father posing like he is the TAWKEH :-) .After having our sweet time there, we went to the Teluk Bahang dam. Luckily Abang Faez helped me to captured our family photos. Oh, before I forgot, Abang Zariman and Kak Su was fasting on the day.

After getting bored there, Abang Zariman brought us to a fisherman’s village around Batu Maung, not a village actually, something like a small jetty with all the old timers. Amirul and Aisyah brought some key-chains for their friends. Windy place, fine view, I hope i can be there till the sunset.

Next, we went to the place where you all must go in Penang, Penang ROAD. We took a walk around the area. It was quite silent because it was public holiday. Very much things I managed to captured, full of people, many type of person and many tourists from many country. You must go there if you were in Penang. If not, just a waste driving and seating 5 hours in the car.

The walk is great. We went to a Malay stall selling Buah Pala. We brought some for the KL-ians and my teacher. The stomach is cracking and killing us. It was hot and the lane was very pack of people. Then, we stopped by at NASI KANDAR LINE CLEAR. One of the best nasi kandar in Penang.

After Perut penuh, we rest for a while at Kapitan Keling Mosque. It was the oldest mosque in Penang. Days getting darker, Abang Faeez had planned went to the other side of Penang for a while. We went to the ferry place. My brother was excited because this was our first time to stepped our feet on a ferry. Wheeee :-)

After finished eating and talking, we had our pray near the bus station which is located beside the KTM Butterworth and in front of the jetty. To go back to the island, we had to pay for Rm1.20 for each adult. Dah sampai balik pulau, we get into the car and went back home, very damn tiring day. I didn’t get the chance to have some little chat with Abang Faeez at home. I was too tired at that time. The next day, we spent only half the day because tommorow we are heading back to Kuala Lumpur. So, we started the day with one of  Malaysia’s Regular Favourite Breakfast, nasi lemak . Then we headed to War Museum at Batu Maung. Very worth spending our time there, many good informations were found and a priceless experience :-)

Here are some pictures I took, there’s a lot more. But I am lazy to upload. After we finished on this War Museum, Abang Zariman and his family went back home except Abang Faeez. He went back home because he had to attended his class tuittion. We went to an Aquarium, official place sponsored by Kementerian Perikanan. Somewhere in Batu Maung. Big fishes with some turtles.

Then, the stomach had knock the door. We went to Pelita and had the Nasi Kandar. The only rice we ate in Penang in Kandar Rice.  Penangites love Nasi Kandar very much. At night, we fetched Abang Faeez and he brought us to Gold Coast Restraunt. Seaside night view, very nice. The foods also taste good. It was one of the best and unforgetable dinner.

Hey readers. This week till the Christmas will be quite busy. I am not going to online. I’ll miss a lot what happen on flickr. But the holiday is just near Johor. These are the pictures that I had edited on the tone and a little bit on texturing. It’s a simple type of editing when you get the touch already. This wolrd of texture was populated or introduced to me by Mr. Wazari wazir through his pictures on the flickr. Very passionate, self taught and will do something different in each and every single of his pictures. That is Mr. Wazari’s specialty. I am very thank to Encik Zuanhardie too as he became the person to introduce to me who is Wazari. I love potrait and some candid photography. It’s about your passions to the photography. People don’t pay you at very high price not because you can take excellent pictures, it’s because you’re a great photographer.
